And Yet It Moves is a puzzle game for Windows and Mac OS X. The game is actually a mixture of puzzles and a platform approach. Everything in the game is made out of ripped paper. You goal is to get from point A to point B as fast as you can without dying. If you fall off a map, you will have to start over. Although this whole ripped paper concept isn't the best way to achieve a good effect, it does allow for a nice world. One would think that it wouldn't look good. However, everything in the game is subjected to a great level of detail. Even the character movements are admirable. This is one of those games that are really simple, yet you still come back for more.
The really good thing about it is that you can submit your times (the time it takes you to complete a certain level) to the servers. Your time will take the form of a ghost, a blurred character which you can add to your levels, so that you can race him. You can even download your friends' ghosts to race them and see who's the fastest or just to set a global record.
The game isn't free, but good games hardly ever are. The controls are really basic and anyone can play and enjoy this game. The demo of this game walks you through the first few levels, which serves as a tutorial for the game as well. You will find notes here and there that tell you how to move your character, the world, and how to overcome obstacles. Though it is not long, the demo allows you to see what this game is about and introduces the many factors that make it unique. |
